Good day, Snarry fans! Due to the possibility of spoilers, we will post under the cut a poll about the 2007 Snarry Art Games. It is because of the new canon that we do so.

Due to popular demand, Walking the Plank has opened a shop on Cafepress.com. The money earned will help allay the cost of running the archive, and you'll be able to get your own WTP gear in time for Prophecy. YAY!

We need to thank the most lovely [info]lizardspots for permission to use the splash page art, and of course [info]nimori for the graphics.

Walking the Plank is also running a contest for a new permanent skin. You can vote on the entries, or read all the news at WTP in our forum newsletter, by our wonderful editor-in-chief, [info]djin7!

Authors: don't forget to archive now, as after the 21st, we'll be busily reading!

This ends the shameless pimping. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi, all! Just wanted to take a second to thank those of you who've managed to find the time to post on Walking the Plank so far. Please take a moment when you can to ensure that I added your story to your team series. Thanks!

Since I know we're all competitive souls here, I thought I'd point out that Team Postwar=2 stories, and Team Wartime=7 stories. *winks*

Let me know if I left a story off, or if you're having trouble with the process! I'm happy to assist any way I can.

Original poster: snarrymod

We would like to give you a little treat before we go on hiatus. The very lovely [info]opulentgreen sent us a single, lovely drabble that unfortunately got lost in our mail folder, and we would like to give it to you now, as a very sweet and appropriate send-off to our Games. We thank her for sending it in. ♥

Author: [info]opulentgreen
Title: Muddled
Genre: Postwar
Prompt: Safe Conduct.
Rating: PG

*~*~*~*~*

Safe conduct was the furthest from Harry’s mind as he entered Knockturn Alley. Wariness left him and instead anguish took its place. Had he known that informing his colleague of three years that he loved him would have earned such a reaction, maybe he would have stayed home. As he stood panting, from the exertion of running, shoulder propped up against a dirty alley wall, he hardly heard the pounding footsteps and desperate shouts. Eyes closed and heart bleeding, he barely felt the hands caressing his back, the arms encircling his waist and the taste of Severus’ gentle apologetic kiss.

*~*~*~*~*

Thank you, [info]opulentgreen!

Sometime next week we will be presenting our 3rd Fandom Fest How-To Poll. We would very much appreciate your feedback on how to improve our Games, and how you liked our changes from last year.

Hello, everyone!

This was a spectacular selection of fics, and a banner year for the number of entries! Thanks to everyone who participated. This is a great fandom.

As you all know, djin7 & [info]reddwarfer  are both mods at Walking the Plankaliciamasters (that's me!) is lucky enough to be the headmistress.  Therefore, we would be honored and overjoyed if you decided to host your fic at Walking the Plank, now that the fest is over.

I have created two open series under djin7's name, one for Team Wartime and one for Team Postwar.

If you've never hosted at Walking the Plank, it is a moderated community of Snarry fanfiction and fanart.

Here's where you sign up for an account.  You'll love it:  I promise!

These are the submission guidelines.  In addition, we have walkthroughs created to help you figure out how to post.

Once it's up, reply to this comment, and I will take it through the submissions process and add it to the series, so that everyone who followed the Snarry Games can find your teammates' stories together. All your entry needs to say is I'm ready!  (It can say more if you want, though. ) If you are struggling, or need help getting your entry up on the site, let me know.  We'll work something out.  My e-mail is aliciamastersATgmailDOTcom.

Here are a few FAQs about an Open Series.
Get your questions answered here. )
Are you fascinated by Walking the Plank? We are always looking for volunteers, both as mods and technical support. Here are the volunteering guidelines. I was very lucky to be a mod on this contest, and I'm amazed at the talent in our fandom!  Meanwhile, I hope you will consider WTP a home for your art.If you agreed to archiving, but you don't have time to upload, I will contact you to arrange a mod upload. I'd love to have a complete set of Champions. (Hint, hint, Earlier Champions! We still have a few stories & artwork missing!)   REMEMBER:  if something is stopping you, please feel free to contact me.  Maybe we can work it out.

Thank you for letting me be a part of this experience!  I hope I see you at Walking the Plank soon!

Hey, everybody!

We have some final things to wrap up, and then we go on a short hiatus before we begin again in the very late summer for the Snarry Art Games.

♥ I really hope everyone enjoyed the 2007 Winter Games, and I'd like to thank, once again, everyone who participated, from my Champions and mods, to the fans and judges. Thank you all so much!

♥ The stories will remain here unless otherwise requested by the authors, we can link directly to your sites and/or journals in lieu, just let us know the link you wish us to use. Authors are free to archive anywhere now that the Games are over.

♥ Before we take down the banners, I'd like to again point everyone to our fabulous Medal Award Ceremony, so you can look at the lovely art by [info]glockgal, as well as Milica.

♥ Some links for bookmarking, as well:
Stories from 2007 can be found by :
** Various TAGs (as found on the sidebar in the Comm main page), including by Team Wartime, Team Postwar, and all 2007 entries

♥ Team Wartime gave us a wonderful Soundtrack.

♥ Very soon, Mod Extraordinaire and Headmistress of Walking The Plank, [info]aliciamasters will soon be advising our Champions on how to upload their stories to our Flagship website, should they desire to, and will also get her instructions on how to add your story to the Snarry Games Series!

♥ Check out our affiliates: [info]triatha_ron and [info]mcshep_match. We have more on the way, including one that is entirely in Hungarian!

♥ Reminder to Champions: Anyone wanting their individual poll vote tallies can request them privately through the Snarry Games Gmail account. ♥

SPECIAL GIFT FOR YOU from TEAM WARTIME!

Today we have a special treat for you.

To close out our 2007 Winter [info]snarry_games, Gold Medalists Team Wartime have gathered together a list of songs that inspired them during the writing process, and they wish to share them with you!

Each contributed song had an influence on the extraordinary works that Team Wartime produced for us.

Thank you, Team Wartime! Enjoy the music, folks.

Stay tuned for a wrap-up post from the mods, a post from the Headmistress of Walking the Plank, and our usual Fandom Fest HOW-TO Poll V. 3. Because we are always looking to improve, and we also want to know if the changes we made from last year made this Games better and easier for all involved.

Subject: 2007 Winter Games MEDAL AWARDS CEREMONY!
Mood excited

Original poster: snarrymod

Today we again recognize the hard-won achievement and dedication of authors and their teams who strive for excellence in Snarry.

As always, it is the fans that are really the winners here. Our Champions all worked hard to entertain us, to allow us a glimpse into different worlds and characters that we hold near and dear. We thank them ALL for this gift they share.

However, in the competition we set out to do, the Judges (you, the readers) have voted to score these creative authors and their teams, both of which have alternatively stunned and excited us, allowing one to edge out the other for Gold by again, the smallest of margins. So without further ado:

Ladies and gentlemen, our GOLD MEDAL WINNERS, with a total of 754 out of a possible 864 points:

Team Wartime!

Congratulations to our 2007 Snarry Games Gold Medal Winners!

Wartime )

And our SILVER MEDAL WINNERS, with a total of 741 out of a possible 864 points:

Team Postwar!

Congratulations to our 2007 Snarry Games Silver Medal Winners!

Postwar )

Congratulations, all!

There were many people involved in the making of this year's medals and banners. Thanks go to: [info]glockgal for her fantastic original art, and to Milica (Melyannam) for the medal and banner designs/bases. We also owe big thank yous to [info]pervart for putting them together and personalizing, and also to [info]reddwarfer for personalizing the banners. Thanks, all you artistes!

Please take your medals home (temporary hotlinking allowed only) and take good care of them, they were hard work for the folks involved.

*The scores were tallied individually by [info]djin7, [info]aliciamasters, [info]reddwarfer, [info]alafairnadia, [info]meredyth_13, [info]medawyn, [info]magic_helmet and [info]shadowpryde, and then compared with the others. Any discrepancy with null votes was averaged. All individual author vote tallies are available, upon request, to the authors privately, via email to snarry.mod @ gmail.com. Thank you.

Extra thanks and praise go to [info]meredyth_13 for coming up with an absolutely brilliant system to make the counting easier!

Friends of Snarry:

Hi. My name is [info]djin7, and I would like to say a few words to you all.

Before we announce the results of the 2007 Winter Snarry Games polls, I would like to take this time to thank some people who really made this year's Games a smashing success. We have had a pretty rough time of it these last few months, but rather than going over the bad, I wish to move forward and talk about all the good, and the community that we have, which is worth its weight in gold medals:

I would like to thank [info]glockgal for donating our beautiful Snarry Games artwork for 2007. I would also like to thank [info]pervart for our layout using the artwork and providing us with pimp banners, icons, and the personalisation of the medals, as well as her tireless work to edit all the banners and medals from last year to conform to our new name. It was because of them that we joined in the HP Quills For A Cause effort this year, and we are humbled by the gifts they bestow upon us. Much ♥LOVE♥ and kudos to them both!

I would also like to thank [info]medawyn, [info]alafairnadia and [info]earthphoenix for their mod help this year, from helping organise the memories to coding interviews and entries, and helping with the Name Change Incident. Thank you all so much! We hope you stick around for the next games.

To [info]meredyth_13, [info]shadowpryde, and [info]magic_helmet, who came through with some outstanding volunteer work at the end of the games that really saved our asses. ♥ Also, to the volunteers who helped to keep this ship afloat after it had been almost sunk during the Name Change Incident:

[info]alisanne,[info]captain_tulip, [info]elfwreck [info]r_grayjoy, [info]ms_beeblebrox, [info]txrabbit, [info]montana_dan, [info]maskofsmiles[info]joanwilder[info]rory8, [info]sansa1970, [info]inspiredlife, [info]verdenia, [info]legomymalfoy, [info]suemonroe, [info]briarwolf, [info]chaeche and [info]swtalmnd.

Thank you to [info]igtow and [info]lampblack for their gifts of paid time for us this year! And to our mysterious rose benefactor, as well! ♥

Thank you to the Artists who sent in the wonderful Opening Games Crack!Art to help us fill the spaces between when the authors were scribbling away. ♥♥♥ as well as to the Closing Games Drabblers who helped us distract you while we were counting. *g*

Thank you to DJIN's ARMY. You all know why. I am not worthy. *Squishes you all*

Thank you to [info]oulangi, who helped me several times this year when I considered walking over a cliff with an anvil, or being a stupid Gryffindor. She was the yin to my yang, and helped to keep me calm and rational when the seas were roughest. Thank you! ♥

A very special thank you goes out to [info]aliciamasters and [info]reddwarfer, who both have alternatively supported me, stood up to me, listened to me, talked to me, carried my burdens and helped me in ways that cannot be properly expressed in words - I thank you both so much. You are the best of the best and whenever I feel like I need a true friend, you guys are there for me, taking time out of your busy lives to help me in my projects. For all the things you do, I wish I could give you your own medals. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

To all the readers and fans who helped make this project a huge success: My deepest gratitude. Thanks to you all, we are now being Watched By: 1900! To you all, for reading and reviewing, for voting and pimping, for reccing and listing! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! *applauds you all *

The totals are in, and have been tallied several times. This means that the Medal Ceremonies will be coming right up, after a personal open letter to my Games Champions. Stay tuned!
